Spring Beauty Edit
Blue eyeshadow, hydrating lipstick, a hair mask that truly delivers, and more.

The only thing more satisfying than cleaning out your closet is cleaning out your makeup bag. Bye-bye tiny stubs of lipstick, dry tubes of mascara, and crusty bottles of nail polish. Spring is the perfect season to purge your beauty kit, and the Sephora Spring Savings Event is the perfect time to restock your essentials and test-run new products (FYI: the sale ends April 20).
Here’s a peek at what I bought, plus a posh Korean nail polish, a revolutionary new hair mask, and my favorite body scrub.
Fara Homidi Essential Eyeshadow Compact
Blue eyeshadow wasn’t on my bingo card for spring, but when I saw this sky-blue shade on Michèle Ouellet Benson’s eyelids, I gasped—and then I immediately added it to my cart. The Fara Homidi Essential Eyeshadow Compact features three hues in a creamy, crease-proof formula that’s easy to apply. The blue shadow is more subtle on than it appears in the compact—more like a wash of color. I also really like the other two neutrals shades, rich brown and taupe, to layer or wear alone. Bonus: the chic compact is refillable.
Westman Atelier HydroBalm Lipstick
I love the look of lipstick but often end up wearing lip balm or lip gloss because my lips are perpetually dry. The new Westman Atelier HydroBalm Lipstick is the answer to my prayers because it’s a sheer, tinted lipstick packed with peptides and hyaluronic acid, so it’s actually moisturizing. I ordered the shade Ballerine and the best-selling English Rose.
Filament Hair Treatment Mask
This newly released Filament Hair Treatment Mask is LEGIT. I ordered it from Violet Grey based on their review, and it did not disappoint. I find that hair masks are often so thick and goopy they leave your hair greasy or heavy, but this magical blue potion does the exact opposite: Your hair feels so soft and light after using it. Following your shampoo, you apply this like conditioner and leave it on for 5–10 minutes before rinsing it off. You can literally feel your hair softening when you first apply it—like butter melting on bread. If you haven’t already seen this blue bottle popping up everywhere, you’re about to. Get it while you still can.
SSONE Nail Polish
I’ve been really into natural-looking nails lately, and this SSONE nude hue (appropriately named Second Skin) looks like the perfect shade for spring.
Gucci Nail Polish
That being said, blue is clearly having a moment in my beauty arsenal, because I also love this baby blue Gucci nail polish for a fresh pop of spring color.
Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks
Another long-time Westman Atelier favorite is the blush stick Baby Cheeks in Petal. I love the creamy formula and dusty rose hue. It’s foolproof to apply and can be layered for more intense color.
Westman Atelier Lit Up Glassy Gel Highlighter Stick
I also love Westman Atelier Lit Up Glassy Gel Highlighter Stick in Petal and Nectar, a golden peach. They are so easy to use but make a big difference. I swipe them on my cheeks, nose, eyelids, and cupid’s bow. I use them in tandem with the Baby Cheeks blush, but I’ll often just wear a few swipes of these and nothing else on my face during the day.
Nècessaire The Body Exfoliator
Give your skin a clean sweep for the start of bare-arms and bare-legs season with Nècessaire The Body Exfoliator. This is my favorite way to exfoliate (other than a Korean body scrub—more on that to come). The formula is gentle enough for my sensitive skin but gets the job done. I like to use it once a week (usually on Sundays) or before applying self-tanner. I love the Sandalwood scent for warmer weather and Eucalyptus scent for fall and winter, but the unscented version is just as great.
RÔZ Salt Scalp Scrub
I’m a new devotee of RÔZ hair care, including this RÔZ Salt Scalp Scrub. Think of it as an exfoliator for your head and hair. The formula smells amazing and lathers easily into your strands—no crunchy, sticky mess. Follow with conditioner or the Filament hair mask for extra oomph. And follow that with a face mask, a glass of wine, and a binge-worthy book for a truly refreshing evening.
xx, Tessa
